keep you home grown grapes fresh for xmas

October 24th, 2013 · No Comments

If you have managed to grow some grapes this year as a lot of the GardenAdvice MyGardenTeam members have done its got to the stage now where you have to cut the last bunches before the frosts start. By cutting them with part of the stem attached its possible to place the stem in a bottle on a shelf and hang the bunch of grapes over the edge of the shelf. This method will keep the grapes fresh and in perfect condition until Christmas where you can impress your friends by producing some fresh grapes you have grown at the xmas lunch. You can buy a special bottle developed for the purpose with a long neck section in which sits the grapes stem and another hole to keep topping up with fresh water every week.
