wildlife gardening day courses from GardenAdvice

Creating a garden that is focused on wildlife is not as easy as it might sound there are many factors to be taken into account. Such as the area you live in and the soil type.

This one day wildlife gardening course has been designed by GardenAdvice to take you through the stage you will need to create a garden for yourself focused on wildlife. Whether you are planning to build a new garden or restyle an existing garden then this wildlife gardening course is aimed at you. The courses are being held throughout the UK during the summer and autumn of 2009 and cover the following areas -

 

Creating an overall concept for you wildlife garden - one of this first tasks in creating a wildlife garden is to create an overall concept for your garden based on the types of wildlife you wish to attached into your garden and how this will combine with your own needs for the garden.
Basic construction methods - the wildlife gardening course covers a number of basic construction methods such as building a small wildlife pond and wildlife meadow establishment.
Wildflowers - how to work out which ones are right for your garden and how to design your garden planting around them to produce an attractive style and all year around interest.
Birds and small manuals - how to encourage and watch Birds and small manuals in your garden throughout the year with planting - the course also looks at a number of common garden plants that can increase the wildlife in your garden especially over the winter time.

The wildlife gardening courses are conducted over a day both inside and outside through a number of practical demonstrations and indoor short talks. All course notes and materials are provided.

The cost is from £79 per person per day including a light lunch.
( cost also includes a £15 plant voucher to spend on plants with. In addition to the course you will also be provided with access to the MyGardenteam service for 3 months with a special wildlife edition.
