City garden Chessington, Surrey
Preparation notes - The key to constructing any garden is in
the planning and the logistics that can save time, money and effort.
First stage - establishing the levels. To create the change
in levels we dug the lower level out and moved the soil to the top level.
At the same time we created a retaining wal from concrete blocks.l Next
we created the bases for the patios by mixing and lying concrete. We
minimised the effort by having the materials to mix the concrete delivered
in a skip, which was later used to remove the rubbish from the finished
garden.
Second stage - once the general levels had been established
we installed the drains and a soak away. This garden had an existing
decking but unfortunately it was created with the wrong type of wood.
